The Volcano of Naples soars over the Gulf and dominates the landscape with its unmistakable conical shape and is undoubtedly the most famous and the best known ever since antiquity. Visiting the crater is a must and every year tourists from all over the world walk the path up to the top to admire the breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples.
The different eruptions have wiped out whole towns situated along the mountain’s flanks and obliterated vast cultivated areas, especially vineyards which, thanks to the fertility of the soil, produce excellent wine, one of the many known the Lacryma cristi. Transfer by minibus from the Sorrento coast towards VESUVIUS, first stop in a vineyard for an easy lunch.
The visit will continue to Mt. Vesuvius. arrive up to 1000 meters walk to the crater for wonderful views of Naples and bay. An alpine guide 2 hours tour will provide information about the history of the crater once on the rim. After seeing one of the most beautiful natural symbols, in the afternoon we will return to Sorrento at your accommodation or meeting point.
