The name ” SORRENTO” has a Greek etymology (from the verb SURREO meaning to flow together in reference to the waters that flow down from the valleys). In fact, on the 3 sides of the Sorrento area there are still waters flowing down from the hills until they flow into the sea. From the Vallone dei Mulini, we will cross Piazza Tasso and walk in the center of Sorrento with its beauties that have inspired poets, writers and artists. We will discover nature, delving into the particular geology of the area. We will also have the opportunity to admire the enchanting landscapes overlooking the sea, interspersed with surprising man-made constructions (the Cathedral of Sorrento and other medieval churches, the Cloister of San Francesco, the Sedil Dominova, the ancient noble doors and the fountains) listening to local stories, myths and legends and learning more about the cultivation of lemons used to produce the famous Limoncello, with a final tasting of all the fantastic products of our land. We will also walk by the sea, visiting the wonderful fishing village of Marina Grande, with its typical colorful fishing boats and traditional fishing methods, and we will also delve into the history of local craftsmanship with its centuries-old traditions, learning the production methods of the famous Sorrento inlay and meeting a local craftsman.
